Hello fellow gardener, Elijah here. Welcome to the first blog. Today I wanted to introduce myself and the business to bring an understanding of our goals and planned impacts to you. Maybe you are an existing customer who is keen to find out more tips and tricks? Or maybe your a new client who is still deciding who to pick to look after their property? Either way, I'm happy to have you here.
The GGV Fundamentals
Nothing would have meaning without having core fundamentals. My main focuses when it comes to gardening is achieving my clients goals while doing so in an eco-conscious way. So how does this work?
Well, when a client comes to me with a task or goal for their property, we discuss everything down to the fine details of what the end goal looks like.
For example, a client has a beautiful lawn surrounded by garden beds that are full of weeds. The aim set out is to simply have the weeds removed to bring the garden bed back to life
Once the goal is set, we can then use our knowledge to discuss ways to achieve the goal in the less damaging way possible.
I have seen people in these scenarios just absolutely douse the garden bed with poison and call it a day. And yes while it may do the job of killing the weeds in the garden bed, it doesn't actually remove them, nor improve how it looks. And with all that extra poison being used, it increases the possibility for accidental cross contamination, which can end up in dead patches on lawns and other plants!
Instead, I think of a method that would a. complete the job to the highest standard, and b. do so in a way where it will be the least impactful to the surrounding environment.
And, in this case, I would do through and first hand weed as much as humanly possible. Then any remaining bits of roots and other small bits, I could just dab a tiny bit of poison directly onto the surface of the unwanted remnants of the plant using a small paintbrush.
This way the job is instantly finished to a high standard, all the while reducing the amount of poison to a mere fraction of the other methods!
That is just one scenario, but you get the picture... Premium results, with minimum negative impact
The other ways I keep to these same fundamentals in different ways will be discussed in upcoming posts! So keep an eye out for those when they arrive. But for now, I hope this has given you a very small glimpse on how we do things different here. Good different
